How the estimate works
Lenders don't start with the amount you want. They work out several separate limits, then lend up to the lowest one. This calculator does the same and shows you which limit is holding you back.
- Income counted. Your in-hand salary, or ITR profit plus depreciation if you are self-employed, plus half of any other regular income.
- Repayment capacity. The share of that income allowed for EMIs, known as FOIR, minus the EMIs you already pay.
- Loan-specific limits. A multiple of income for personal loans, the car's value, your business turnover, or the value of your property.
- Lender checks. Your CIBIL score, age, work or business history, recent applications and past defaults.
You then get a likely amount, an estimated EMI, a plain-language reason for the number, and specific steps to increase it.
